National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) is structured according to the continental European system for training engineers, with an emphasis on solid background. It was founded in 1837 and, currently, it is composed of 9 Schools, it occupies 512 faculty members and 4.090 external collaborators, it is extended in 300,000 m2 of installations, where 23.914 students are studying. Of the 120.000 qualified engineers active today in Greece, the majority (over 40%) are NTUA graduates.

The School of Chemical Engineering, being one of NTUA’s 9 Schools, continues for several decades its creative work and its efforts to evolve by introducing new courses and by intensifying its research activities. The latter, include basic and applied research, and they materialise through senior research theses, doctoral theses, and research programs carried out by the scientific staff.

The “Research Lab of Advanced, Composite, Nano Materials & Nanotechnology” (RNanoLab) is situated at the School of Chemical Engineering of NTUA. It was established in 2007; its research group has extensive experience in Designing, Production and Characterization of Advanced-, Composite- and Nano- Materials.
