A dedicated team of Academics, Research Fellow and students from MOSAIC group (Modelling, Simulation and Innovative Characterisation) is participating in “Open characterisation and modelling environment to drive innovation in advanced nanoarchitectured and bio-inspired hard/soft interfaces-OYSTER”. MOSAIC is a Multidisciplinary Research Group established in the Bio Materials Research Cluster in Bernal Institute at the University of Limerick. Since its inception the MOSAIC Research Group has secured over €100 million in funding from Industry and the European Union, Science Foundation Ireland, Enterprise Ireland, Irish Research Council and HEA. Our research areas include processing of metals and biocompatible ceramics, as well as investigating piezoelectricity, ferroelectricity & pyro-electricity of Biomolecular crystals using combination of predictive modelling, simulation and Characterization. Another area where research is focused is label free imaging for medical applications. MOSAIC group is a partner of CURAM, the Science Foundation Ireland National Centre for Biomedical Devices. MOSAIC group is also one of the pioneers of chemical nanoscopy using mid-infrared finger printing. Its IR-nanoscope technology is patent protected with UL having freedom to operate to exploit these technologies.
